Just your average person trying to include Jesus in every aspect of my life and somehow “pray constantly.” I think there is soo much to be learned from the shared Christian experience so I hope you will post comments and get the discussion going!
My Story
Raised Catholic – which is to say minimally educated in the faith and never having really met Jesus. Once I was confirmed I stopped going to Mass entirely.
In college I was hanging out with a good friend, and one her friends. Her friend asked if I was religious, to which I innocently responded, “yes.” Well my good friend literally laughed out loud. You might imagine my indignation! (Leave it to God to use my pride to draw me back to Him!)
But later on, when I calmed down and started thinking about it, I realized she was right. That Sunday I went to Mass for the first time in a reallly long time. While there I was so overwhelmed with the recognition of how much God had done for me even while I was ignoring Him, and how strong His love was for me, that I cried. It’s the first time I can ever really remember meeting/finding Jesus.
I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Thomas Howard and his wife, and I think she put it best: “God caught me.” Indeed He did! Ever since I’ve been trying to make my life Christo-centric and to learn as much as I can about my faith. Thanks be to God!
